With a huge cast of characters and a surge in popularity thanks to its Amazon Prime adaptation, Invincible has a character for everyone. While the story mainly follows Mark Grayson and his life as a superhero and the son of the Viltrumite, Omni-Man, it is supported by a plethora of other characters and side stories that fans favor differently. Presenting these characters as Zodiac signs based on their qualities and attributes is a great way to get to know them, and perhaps one might find their new favorite character because of it.
Invincible has a huge cast of characters, and many of them could represent multiple signs. For the sake of simplicity, this article will assign characters to signs that best fit the traits associated with them.
Characters in other franchises like Dragon Ball and Naruto have been assigned zodiac signs, which has helped fans examine the series’ characters in a new light. Since Invincible and its characters are only going to grow in popularity from this point forward, looking to the stars is a great way to forge a connection with them. Read on to find out who your personal Invincible character is.
Determined, ambitious, and independent, Conquest is the definition of an Aries. His name alone is the perfect reflection of what makes an Aries tick. No task is too large for the Viltrumite to complete, and no planet is strong enough to withstand his assault. Fans of the animated series should be excited to see Conquest as a main villain in Season 2. Although in the comics he barely survived a brutal fight with Invincible and Atom Eve, and was trapped in a 400-ton prison, Conquest showed no signs of broken will, and effortlessly made it back to the Viltrum Empire. He might be one of the worst villains in the series, but he is indeed the Aries model.
There are many aspects about Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, that make him a candidate for any of the Zodiac signs, but he is best suited to be a Taurus. He is caring and generous, caring more for his family and friends far more than his own physical and mental well-being. He is resourceful not only in combat tactics, but especially banter, as some would say that Invincible’s nickname game puts Iron Man’s to shame. To top off Invincible as the poster child for Taurus, he has strong values that were put on full display when he risked everything and denied his father’s request to join him in taking over Earth for Viltrum.
As the Zodiac sign representing multiplicity, no other character in Invincible represents this better than Kate Cha, or Dupli-Kate. On the surface, her ability to create clones of herself has her immediately come to mind for this sign, but it goes deeper than that. Geminis are adaptable, humorous, and creative jacks of all trades. Her banter with her teammates on Teen Team and the new Guardians of the Globe shows off her comical side, and her ability allows her to approach any situation from any angle. And if her clones have anything like the hidden power of Naruto’s shadow clones, she would be capable of learning and mastering any skill she set her mind to.
Cancer: Debbie Grayson
Motherly and altruistic. Creative and goal oriented. Resentful and grudge-holding. These are all traits of the Cancer signs and of Debbie Grayson, Invincible’s mother. She is successful in her career, and one could say she was successful in her family life too until Nolan’s betrayal. After that, she rightfully resented her former husband and held an eternal grudge against him. Despite that, she was able to rekindle a love for family and even accepted the task of taking in and raising Mark’s half-brother, Oliver.
Leo: Battle Beast
This one is perhaps a bit on the nose, but there are other things about Thokk, aka Battle Beast that make him the best Leo in Invincible. For example, a Battle Beast spinoff series is on the way, which is great news for fans of the character. That likability is one of the key traits of Leos. Other Leo traits that this villain has are high standards, unwavering confidence, and vanity. Thokk started out as a guardian of his planet but became addicted to his craft and left to seek out stronger opponents. He thought he would find them on Earth, but was disappointed with who he fought, and left there, too. Even though he ended up siding with the Coalition, he refused to acknowledge that he was part of it, and only did it for his own gain.
As the leader of the original Guardians of the Globe, Invincible‘s Justice League pastiche, the Immortal is best suited to represent Virgo. He has been around since ancient times, granting him elegance and ingenuity, and an eye for detail. His intentions are pure, which is why he was best suited to be the GG’s leader. But perhaps the trait that best links the Immortal to Virgo is his detachment to the world around him. Being around for so long eventually took its toll on his psyche, and he would distance himself from the human race, much like how a Virgo detaches themselves from their emotions.
Libra is the Zodiac sign of balance, neutrality, and diplomacy, and who better to reflect that than Titan? The stone clad, sometimes hero, sometimes villain is regarded as one of the 10 best characters from the show, whose arc runs almost parallel to the comics. Titan started out as an enemy of Invincible, but then he persuaded the hero to work with him in bringing down Machine Head, but then immediately took over as the king of crime in Machine Head’s stead. His actions might be villainous, but everything Titan does is for the well-being of his family, balancing out the scales of Libra.
Like his son, Invincible, Omni-Man has many qualities that make him a fitting candidate for several zodiac signs. But complexity, authenticity, and steadfast devotion are all possessed by Omni-Man, and therefore he represents Scorpio. In the beginning, Nolan is devoted to the Viltrumite Empire, and goes as far to raise his half-human son for the sole purpose of joining them. When Omni-Man’s messed up betrayal is revealed to Mark, the complexities of his character start to show. Is his loyalty to Viltrum or his Earth family? Fortunately, the Viltrumite eventually sides with the Coalition and Earth, and gives his all in a new and stronger devotion than he ever gave to Viltrum.
Sagittarius: Atom Eve
Samantha Eve Wilkins is honest, big-dreaming, and highly intelligent, aligning her with Sagittarius. Her intelligence goes hand-in-hand with her ability to manipulate matter at the subatomic level, making for clever and unorthodox use of her energy constructs. After falling out with Teen Team, she would head to Africa to help make it a better place for the people living there, and this generosity would eventually extend to the entire galaxy. She also is not afraid to say things as they are, especially when it comes to helping Mark maintain his humanity. Some would say that Atom Eve is the most important hero in Invincibleand for more than the reasons discussed here, she makes a great Sagittarius.
Capricorn: Cecil Stedman
There are many ways to describe a Capricorn: persistent, sophisticated, rational, practical, calculating, cynical. These are all embodied, for better or worse, by Cecil Stedman, the director of the GDA. Cecil has an answer for everything, and every move he makes is calculated about ten steps out. He does not let emotions, ethics, or morals get in the way of his decisions; if something will be beneficial to the well-being of Earth and its people, then Cecil will take it or do it even if it means sacrificing innocent lives. All of these traits, plus his role in the comics, have many believing that Cecil will be the villain in Season 2 of the show. But based on his comic book qualities and feats, Cecil Stedman and Capricorn are one and the same.
Believe or not, Aquarus is not the character best suited to represent Aquarius. That seat goes to Thaedus, who also holds a seat as the leader of the Coalition. Aquarians are original, independent thinkers who focus on building a humanitarian future. This is clearly reflected in Thaedus who has a thought process different enough from other Viltrumites to spur him into rebellion against them. He dreams of a future galaxy unhindered by the tyrannical empire, and although he does not live to see the end of the war, he can rest easy knowing his dream was achieved.
Pisces: Amber Bennett
Although Invincible proves why superheroes should date each other and not civilians, Amber Bennett had Mark’s heart long before Atom Eve did. And that relationship is what makes Amber a perfect Pisces. Pisces are encouraging and supportive, but also very intuitive. Amber showed both of these traits in her pseudo-sleuthing into Mark’s superhero identity early in the comics, and when she found out the truth, she was supportive of her boyfriend’s career, and excited that she was dating a superhero. Ultimately, she’s a minor character in the grand scheme of the story, but she made a big enough impact to be selected as the final representation of the Invincible zodiac.
And that’s that, 12 Invincible characters that represent the 12 zodiac signs. The comic series has concluded but a majority of these characters will carry on into the later seasons of the animated show. Hopefully, the stars have aligned, and your zodiac sign matches up with your favorite character.
