Saints Row Boss Factory lets players create a Boss character from scratch, save them to make them playable in the full version of Saints Rowshare them with other players around the world, and register their account to the official Saints Row website for exclusive content. There are eight available presets for the Boss, which a player can use if they do not particularly care about the appearance of their Boss. These presets act as a foundation for building a character and it’s easy to pick the one that’s closest to what the player is envisioning, so it can be tailored to their desires.

The amount of character customization options in Saints Row is staggering. The body type can be created using any number of male and female attributes, with a sliding scale for body shape that offers lots of hip, chest, muscle, and waist variety. There are also a variety of prosthetic limbs on offer, with players able to create a character with artificial hands or feet. There are a number of skin tones on offer, ranging from ones seen in real life, to outlandish colors and metallic tones. Saints Row Boss Factory has different skin patterns that can be used, such as bevels, which can be coupled with a metallic skin tone to create a lookalike of Colossus from the X-Men.

A similar level of attention is given to the Boss’ head. There are lots of options to alter the Boss’ facial features, add earrings, scars, tattoos, makeup, wrinkles, and head decorations. These range from recognizable human traits, to alien appendages. There is a lot of scope for creating details that players won’t even see during most of the regular gameplay and will only appear during cutscenes. There are tons of hair options, both for the head and for the body, which is especially helpful for those who wish to recreate a specific fictional character in their game. Saints Row Boss Factory has lots of clothing options available, though the full game will unlock more through its shops. These range from individual clothing items, to full body suits, such as a mini dress or long johns. It is also possible to change the color of each item of clothing, in order to further tailor the look of the Boss. Saints Ross Boss Factory does not allow the Boss to have a wingsuit just yet, as that’s likely unlocked over the course of the game, but there are still lots of clothing options available.

By far the most interesting aspect of Saints Row Boss Factory is the ability to save and share Boss designs. It’s great to be able to create a character, but all of the elements mentioned above are tailor-made for one thing: recreating other fictional characters in the world of Saints Row. It’s possible to save a Boss and share it, with a seven-character code that allows them to be searched, and there is also an option to just browse. The Boss designs can be downloaded and used on any platform. The Saints Row Boss Factory was only up for a few hours before it received Boss renditions of Tobias Funke from Arrested DevelopmentLara Croft, Waluigi, Mario, and Harry from Disco Elysium. The community is going to have a field day with the Saints Row Boss Factory once it’s available.

Saints Row Boss Factory has an incredible amount of character creation options, allowing players to create some of the most absurd protagonists imaginable. The fact that the player can store several for use during the main game is just the icing on the cake, as they do not have to commit to a single choice. It won’t be long until Saints Row Boss Factory leads to the creation of all kinds of interesting characters that have been contributed by the community, and the Santo Ileso is filled with Bosses that resemble Shrek.
