There are multiple endings to unlock in Oxide Room 104, but the best ending requires a playthrough with no deaths. If Matt dies at all, then one of the other endings will be unlocked and the true ending will be unavailable until the game is completely reset. Although there are a few different options and paths, the best possible outcome requires a perfect run.
As soon as the game begins, Matt wakes up in a bathtub and finds himself locked inside Room 104. Various dangers need to be avoided as puzzles are solved to get closer to finding the exit. In order to escape the Night Soul Motel and get the best possible outcome for Matt, players need to avoid dying. If Matt dies, he’ll speak to the Doctor, then wake up again in the bathtub, but the motel changes slightly each time. To get the best ending in the unforgiving gorefest that is Oxide Room 104Matt can not die at all.
If Matt dies, the game needs to be reset to get the best ending because he needs to escape the Nigth Soul Motel on the first try. Not every room needs to be visited in order to escape the motel, so keeping exploration to a minimum can help players avoid unnecessary risks. Extra documents can be collected by visiting other rooms, but for the best ending, it only necessary to get to the third floor and reach reception from there.
How To Complete Room 104 In Oxide Room 104
When Matt first wakes up, he’ll need to unlock the bathroom door, then find the room key. Matt can get his clothes on by grabbing the wooden box from the shelf above the dresser. Inputting code 373 will open the box and give Matt the dresser key for the middle drawer. After getting dressed, Matt’s inventory size will be increased by three spaces. Matt will also get the bathroom key, but there are a few other things to pick up before leaving.
In the medicine cabinet, players can grab a bottle of antidote, which can be used if Matt gets poisoned. On the same shelf where the wooden box was, there’s also a larger chest that can be picked up. The key for it is inside the toilet, so Matt should examine it before using any of the other options. The inventory can be opened to combine the chest and key, and there will be a few bandages inside that can stop the bleeding effect if Matt is injured. Matt can leave the bathroom and go into the kitchen area next. The stovetop can be turned on, then Matt can grab the tea kettle and use it on the centipede to get the room key.
How To Complete Room 111 In Oxide Room 104
Once Matt exits Room 104, a few quick-time events will need to be completed during a chase sequence that leads him to the storage area. Immediately to the left of the door, there’s a motel map Matt can grab. The key for Room 111 is hanging next to the map, but there are supplies on the shelves to grab before leaving. Most importantly there’s a gun and some ammunition Matt can pick up in this room. Additional healing supplies are also available. Once players are done collecting everything and storing anything they do not need, Matt can head into Room 111.
As soon as Matt enters Room 111, players will notice a mangled creature standing in between the beds. Crouching can help Matt sneak past the monster, but in this case, it’s easier to just shoot it and explore the room freely. It takes five or six bullets to kill the creature, so Matt should be a decent amount of distance away from it, which is a good general strategy in order to survive. A few supplies can be collected by searching through the drawers in the nightstand and around the kitchen. The next room key is very easy to grab. On the table, there are three jars, and crouching down reveals two X symbols and one O. Matt can reach inside the jar marked by the O to find the key to Room 103. If Matt reaches into the wrong jar, he’ll be injured and will require bandages to continue. After collecting items, including a bathroom key and several documents, Matt can go to Room 103.
How To Complete Room 103 In Oxide Room 104
There is an extremely disturbing creature inside a crib and symbols written in blood on the floor of Room 103. Despite the horrific surroundings, there is actually no danger in this room unless Matt tries to harm the creature in the crib. Upon entering, Matt can grab the bag from the chair on the right to add three more slots and increase his inventory storage capacity. A bathroom key can be used to access a few items, including a rubber ducky with the word ‘JOB’ written on the bottom of it.
The letter blocks around the room are needed to spell out the same word inside the red circle on the floor. The O is on the kitchen table, B is in the green container in the corner of the kitchen, and J is in the top bin next to the stove. Matt can bring the blocks to the circle and place them in order. A jump scare triggers, then the baby creature will disappear leaving behind the key for Room 202. However, a bathroom key from Room 210 is needed first. From the dirt path facing the pool outside, there’s a partially fenced area on the left, and a hook can be found on top of one of the barrels. This item can be used by standing on the X near the edge of the pool. The hook will pull the key for Room 210 closer, then Matt can grab it.
How To Complete Room 210 In Oxide Room 104
There are a few items, like documents and bullets, that can be found around the room. There’s a key for Room 109 on the counter, but a monster will appear if it’s picked up. This key isn’t actually needed to save Matt and unlock the best ending, so players can choose if they want to grab it and explore Room 109 or not. If picking up the key, players should make sure their gun is loaded. The reason for going to Room 210 is the bathroom key that can be found in the back-right corner of the kitchen. After grabbing the bathroom key, players can go to Room 202.
How To Complete Room 202 In Oxide Room 104
It is important that the gun is not fired at all while in Room 202. Shooting the gun will cause an explosion and Matt will die instantly. Instead, Matt will need to crouch and use the sneaking mechanic to get around the enemies in this room. When the mobile creature walks near the arm in the wall, Matt can sneak by staying close to the chair and turning left immediately past the chain-link fence.
The bathroom key collected in Room 210 can be used to open the door, then Matt can interact with the metal hatch to reach the third floor. On the other side, there’s a ladder that’s blocked by some kind of pulsating tendrils. There’s gasoline and matches to pick up, and Matt can use them to burn the creature and clear the ladder. Climbing up leads Matt into Room 303.
How To Complete Room 303 In Oxide Room 104
Room 303 has a few keys and items, including a bottle of acid that can be found in one of the kitchen cabinets. The key needed to get out of Room 303 is also in the kitchen in the top bin next to the stove. To be able to use it, Matt needs to fill the bathtub with water, then pour the acid and place the key in it. There’s a blacksmith tool that Matt can pick up and use to remove the key from the acid. The bathroom also has a bathroom key in one of the drawers that Matt will need later, and there are additional room keys beside the exit. Only the key for Room 305 is needed, but players have the option of exploring Room 301 as well.
How To Complete Room 305 In Oxide Room 104
In Room 305, there are two mannequins used to solve this room’s puzzle, and there’s an instrument on the bed to give to the standing one. There’s also sheet music in the bathroom, which can be unlocked using the bathroom key collected in Room 303. Matt needs to place the sheet music and instrument, then push the sitting mannequin toward the piano. After a moment, the top of the piano will open to reveal a metal key. The metal key can be used to open the gate in front of Room 301 where the weeping girl is standing. Matt can then follow her through the sliding wooden door to reach a stairwell that leads to Reception.
How To Complete Reception & Unlock The Best Ending In Oxide Room 104
Before reaching the ground floor and Reception area, there will be a monster on the landing to kill or avoid. There are a lot of letters to find in this location, so players can spend some time looking around if they want to gather more information. Once Matt walks toward the girl, a brief cutscene triggers, and he goes inside the room on the left. Matt will need to get past the puking enemy stuck in the wall and go into the room on the right. There’s a bottle and a dishtowel to grab off the tables, and they can be combined to create a Molotov cocktail to burn the tendrils off the door.
Matt can keep following the path until reaching the kitchen, then a cutscene will show the twisted form of Eva coming after Matt, but he manages to escape into the vents. Matt will need to crawl through the vents, but to get through safely, it’s vital that players stop moving when the hand pops up and the vent cover shakes. Once Matt comes out on the other side, he can run straight past the grandfather clock and out of the Night Soul Motel.
After leaving the motel, a cutscene will play showing Matt falling as the ground beneath him crumbles. The screen will go black for a moment, and the Doctor will say a few things. When the villain walks away, Matt opens his eyes and quickly realizes he has the chance to finally be free of the Doctor’s twisted experiments and escape this nightmare motel. Upon exiting the room, Matt can turn right and crouch to go under the table. The Doctor will chase Matt to the elevator, but he manages to shut the gate before being captured. At this point, players can choose to either use the button near the gate to leave or get their revenge first by cutting off the Doctor’s hand. After taking the elevator up, Matt will have successfully escaped the Night Soul Motel and the best ending will be unlocked for Oxide Room 104.
