10 Wildest Storylines You Forgot About

Posted on June 13, 2022 By admin No Comments on 10 Wildest Storylines You Forgot About

With the upcoming series finale of Legaciesit’s official that The Vampire Diaries universe is coming to a close. During the original show’s run, it gifted fans with immersive storylines and quite a large number of them. Plot twists were aplenty, and each story entwined with one other to form complex and interesting arcs. Many of these plots could be forgotten after a first watch since there were other bigger, better happenings to focus on in the show.

However, The Vampire Diaries had some inarguably unbelievable events take place during its course, which included a society to torture vampires, infidelity with ghosts, a questionable number of doppelgångers, and doctors who fed patients vampire blood to heal them. These were the wildest ones on the show.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Brotherhood Of The Five

This Brotherhood of the Five were vampire hunters who began as a menacing organization, with almost invincible individuals who were unbelievably strong and smart and had a vendetta against the creatures of the night. They also had the Hunter’s Curse on their side, so a vampire would think several times before killing them off.

Things got a bit strange as Jeremy became a Hunter but ultimately ended up being killed by Silas. The rest of the Brotherhood was also surprisingly easy to vanquish for ancient quintuplets, and they disappeared into the ether like other dropped storylines on The Vampire Diaries.

Evil Alaric

Alaric Saltzman as An Original Vampire Hunter burning in the sun

The Gilbert ring was one of the most powerful objects on the show and combined with the powers of Esther, it took a huge toll on caring Alaric. As he slowly lost parts of his life to the ring and started attacking people, Esther took advantage and turned him into an Enhanced Original vampire who hunted other vampires.

Evil Alaric became the main antagonist on the show, which was pretty absurd, as was how surprisingly easy it was to turn someone into an Original. In conclusion, evil Alaric was quite forgettable and the way he was turned, anyone could have been an Original.

Klaus’ Hybrid Massacre

Although Klaus could be funny and enigmatic, his obsession with siring hybrids was quite something. He wanted an army of vicious supernaturals at his disposal, and it was not enough that they existed. They had to be loyal to him and do his bidding, which made fans wonder what exactly did Klaus want to conquer that he could not do by himself.

What fans may not remember is how he slaughtered them mercilessly when he found out that they had broken the sire bond, and in the absence of Tyler, went and murdered his mother to get his vengeance.

The Traveler’s Curse

This group of witches was yet another new breed that TVD introduced to viewers, and their existence was something that was really complex and mostly unnecessary. With Silas and Qetsiyah to blame for the curse placed on them, they could not settle together in their own bodies, which is why they lived inside Passenger bodies to stay together.

As if that was not complicated enough, they also wanted to finish off spirit magic as revenge on other witches, which was connected to the doppelgångers of Silas and Amara. This arc was avoidable.

Bonnie Waking Up A Huntress

The always wise and sweet Bonnie got the worst end of the stick most times, but the writers dealt her an especially brutal blow when they took away her powers and gave her Rayna Cruz’s Huntress instincts as she got a new lease on life. Bonnie could never really catch a break, and this was perfectly awful.

She almost killed Matt, Enzo, and Damon when Rayna gave her her last life and did some terrible things because she could not control it. Bonnie had already been an anchor to the Other Side, a ghost, and dead, so adding this to her repertoire was truly wild.

Jeremy Cheating With His Ghostly Ex

Young Jeremy was tempted to date many people at once, but things got weird when he chose to romance the ghost of Anna and kiss her when he was involved with Bonnie, who was very much alive and in love with the future Hunter.

Bonnie had sacrificed a lot for Jeremy, so his escapades with the ghosts of Vicki and Anna were very unfair to the Bennett witch. After all of this infidelity, Bonnie still died to save him.

Katherine’s Daughter Nadia

Nadia captures Katherine

Elena’s identical doppelgånger Katherine had a meaty role in the series, but her back story ran out of control when the show introduced her daughter, Nadia, to viewers. It was known that Katherine had birthed a baby as a human, but the fact that Nadia found out about her mother and became a vampire to look for her was too much to believe.

Katherine’s reception of her only living heir was also quite cool and disappointing, which is why it did not make sense that Nadia worked so hard to save her in Elena’s body and all her other attempts. Nadia’s very existence was baffling.

Augustine Society And Vampires

Another plotline that was hard to swallow was the existence of the Augustine society, and that Elena’s adoptive father had been a willing part of it. Her origin story was complicated enough but villainizing her adoptive parents was uncalled for and stretched a bit too far.

That vampires could be caught and tortured was also something that did not add up, since they were so strong. The experimenting and torture was dehumanizing and fans would sooner forget this wild plotline.

Stefan Being A Doppelgånger Too

The Vampire Diaries loved its doppelgångers, and the supernatural lookalikes were a go-to plot device in many stories in the show. While Elena was a known doppelgångers since season 1, Stefan also being one because of Silas’ crimes was pretty chaotic.

Fans could forget sweet Tom, who was killed for no good reason to serve the Travelers. The supernatural attraction between the thedoppelgångers pair piled on top of the hard-to-believe heap, and it went against existing lore about these twins.

Meredith’s Questionable Practices

Meredith Fell in the Vampire Diaries

Many humans on TVD were privy to the fact that vampires, werewolves, and witches were real, but none of them made a business out of it like Meredith. Somehow, she managed to collect vamp blood regularly, administered it to patients without nurses noticing, and got away with the instant recovery of her patients without anyone noticing.

These practices were unethical and definitely would not stay under the radar as they did on the show. It was unexpected for TVD to extend into hospitals and disrupt medicine as it did with Meredith.
